This is another fab read from this author。 It’s one hell of a ride, fast paced and full of adventure and I was grabbed from the very start。 The characters are fantastic and the storyline addictive and the world building is incredible。 Cannot wait to read more。

The story continues a few days after Eldora pierced her heart with the crystal and turned Fae。 The first half of the book is pretty slow and I considered dropping it but thankfully it gets better once Ellora meets Queen Alessandra's brother。 Honestly I hope we get a novella about him and his beloved (I think that's what they are) Even Brannick who was standoffish for most part of the book becomes much more loving and open。 I'd prefer it if there was a bit more passion though。 I mean this is the The story continues a few days after Eldora pierced her heart with the crystal and turned Fae。 The first half of the book is pretty slow and I considered dropping it but thankfully it gets better once Ellora meets Queen Alessandra's brother。 Honestly I hope we get a novella about him and his beloved (I think that's what they are) Even Brannick who was standoffish for most part of the book becomes much more loving and open。 I'd prefer it if there was a bit more passion though。 I mean this is the third book y'all!! We see how Ellora learns to live with her new found fear (I hope that Ansel suffers to the bitter end *pun intended😜) and slowly overcome it。 She is getting stronger with each book albeit still magicless ❤ Her sisters play an important role in this book and I do see something brewing between Chloe and Quintus😉 The ending had me screaming which tbh shouldn't come as a surprise since the last 2 books ended in a cliffhanger as well🤣 I really hope the last book fixes everything without any major sacrifices and hopefully there's a bit more romance!! 3。5 *my heart is tied to yours* stars 💕 。。。more

This is the third book in the Fae of Bitter Thorn series。 I love that in this book the author continues to develop the established characters more while introducing us to new ones。 The relationships and motives are strengthened and revealed more。 The world building continues to be detailed and imaginative。 However, we are again left with another cliffhanger while impatiently waiting for the final book。 I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily。
Katie Cherry,
Honestly, Kay just blows me away with each of these books。 These characters are great- and now that they are firmly established, as well as the world, the plot has taken off at a sprint! You'd think after how the last book ended (and therefore how this one started) that Elora would have a much easier time in Faerie。 That is SO not the case, and I'm very impressed with the author for coming up with so much to throw at Elora still。 Even with the changes that took place at the beginning of the book Honestly, Kay just blows me away with each of these books。 These characters are great- and now that they are firmly established, as well as the world, the plot has taken off at a sprint! I'm very concerned for how they're going to pull things together for the last book, but of course, that just means that Kay is doing an absolutely PERFECT job with this story! You certainly can't say there's nothing at stake here。 Anxiously awaiting the next installment。 I already know that it, too, will blow me away! <3 。。。more

The story picks up shortly after book two ended, so there is not much needed in terms of rehash, though Moody does a fantastic job providing it when needed。 The fae world continues to expand as we are taken to new kingdoms and meet new and powerful characters in each realm。 The political intrigue has definitely stepped up its game as Prince Brannick and Elora try to gain allies so they can overthrow the queen。 So many ulterior and hidden motives are lurking in the realms that Elora and Brannick don't know who they trust, and who is really on their side。Elora goes through so much in this story and she really is showing how strong she really is。 She repeatedly puts herself in danger to protect not only Brannick but his kingdom, his people, ad those that she loves。 As an FMC, she is determined, resilient, persistent, kind, stubborn, and compassionate。 She wants to help in any way that she can and she really tries her best at every turn- even when things seem impossible。Brannick continues to grow in this book as well。 Not only as a man but as a king, he is wanting to make things better for his people and will stop at nothing to accomplish his goal。 As a fae, he is not very experienced with feelings but he is trying to earn the love and respect that he so desperately wants and has to share。 It does seem as if Elora and Brannick are on more equal terms in this book, as well as finally being on the same page。 I can't wait to see where this relationship goes!We also see more of Elora’s sisters in this book, and they provide a fresh breath of air in the group。 They help provide a humor that breaks up the dreary times and they soon settle into the group very easily and are welcomed。 They are the only humans in the group but they have more to offer than the fae first expected。 I look forward to seeing what becomes of them in the next book。This story has loads of action and suspense, with quite a few twists added in。 Some characters have dubious trustworthiness to them and then there are some stalwart allies, and they all have to work together to save Fae。 The writing is so clear and flows so easily that you can get lost in it。 Everything is detailed so well and it moves with such natural grace that you will be transported entirely。 A very good book and series that I would recommend! 。。。more

Crown of Bitter Thorn is a great addition to The Fae of Bitter Thorn series, and it picks up shortly after the last book ended。 Moody’s fae world continues to expand, and we are taken to new kingdoms and are introduced to new and often frightening supernatural beings and creatures。 Equally fascinating is the political intrigue as Prince Brannick and Elora try to gain allies against the queen。 There are so many ulterior and hidden motives that Elora and the prince never know who they can fully tr Crown of Bitter Thorn is a great addition to The Fae of Bitter Thorn series, and it picks up shortly after the last book ended。 Moody’s fae world continues to expand, and we are taken to new kingdoms and are introduced to new and often frightening supernatural beings and creatures。 Equally fascinating is the political intrigue as Prince Brannick and Elora try to gain allies against the queen。 There are so many ulterior and hidden motives that Elora and the prince never know who they can fully trust or who is actually on their side。Elora goes through a lot in the story and repeatedly puts herself in danger to protect Brannick, his kingdom, and his people。 Determined to save Faerie and all who have been hurt by the evil High Queen Alessandra, Elora’s love for Brannick and the fae world fuels her。 She is a determined and brave woman, persistent in her goals even when faced with the impossible。 She’s also really kind and compassionate。 She has such a tender heart, and she truly cares for those she meets。 Elora always wants to do better and make things better, and she is stubborn, resilient, and extremely courageous。I love that we see more of Elora’s sisters in this book。 Like the other characters in the story, Elora’s younger sisters are well-developed and interesting。 They only humans in Faerie, they have more to offer the fae than expected。 The detestable queen becomes an even more dynamically developed character as well, and the story delves more into her reasons for wanting Brannick and power。 I found this aspect of the novel interesting, and though it didn’t make me like her character more, it definitely provided good insight into her misguided and power-hungry notions。The love story between Elora and Brannick continues to flourish, though I did hope for a little more in the romance department, especially in the first half of the book。 After what happened at the end of the last book and what Elora did for Brannick, I found his initial treatment of her a bit extreme and unusual。 His actions in this first half of the book contrasted with my expectations, but I think this has a lot to do with the fact that Brannick is not very experienced with feeling such deep and strong emotions for another person。 I do like how their relationship progresses, especially in the second half of the book! It seems as if they are on more equal terms in this book, and I have a feeling their relationship is only going to get better from here! Finally, can I just say how much I love Brannick’s wolf Blaz? A fiercely loyal and intelligent companion who becomes a great support and asset to Elora and Brannick, Blaz is also so sweet and caring。 Blaz, the consummate protector, has some pretty cool magical gifts too。Like all of Moody’s stories, this story has a ton of action, suspense, and a plethora of interesting and dynamically developed characters。 And that ending! She’s the master of cliffhangers! I can’t wait to read the fourth book in the series and see if Brannick and Elora can help Faerie and find their own happy ending。 Thanks so much to Kay L。 Moody for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

I had forgotten most of the story when I started, and that is a shame。 The first pages are slow and confusing if you don’t know the events from Book 1。 However, I caught on quickly。 Having sacrificed her humanity, Elora became the rock stuck in the tires, changing the flow of Faerie’s future。 No one expected her to survive, and prince Brannick brought her sisters to Faerie as moral support。 But becoming a fae did not gain her any intrinsic knowledge, and her sisters knew more than she did。 That I had forgotten most of the story when I started, and that is a shame。 The first pages are slow and confusing if you don’t know the events from Book 1。 However, I caught on quickly。 Having sacrificed her humanity, Elora became the rock stuck in the tires, changing the flow of Faerie’s future。 No one expected her to survive, and prince Brannick brought her sisters to Faerie as moral support。 But becoming a fae did not gain her any intrinsic knowledge, and her sisters knew more than she did。 That was funny! Elora wanted to save the kingdom and the pixies, but she was still unable to access her newfound magic nor understand her fae-ness。 To be honest, I got annoyed at Elora。 In her desperate grasp for power, she ignored the fact she was just as capable before she became Fae。 When Chloe asked to help, Elora dismissed her。 I was so upset, but Chloe and Grace later became a focal point in the war to overthrow the new Queen。 I only changed my mind near the end with the Troll scene。 You have to read the troll scene! It brings back what I like about her!Elora’s quest towards enlightenment involves overcoming her emotional outbursts and discovering her own strengths。 Saving the pixies to save the realm is a metaphor for recognizing the value in little things。 The thorns and snowflakes in the castle are not just obstacles。 As a novel geared towards younger souls, the theme of being displaced, moving and starting all over, is bittersweet。 Her younger sisters adjust easily, since they could study poetry and music anywhere, and their home is where the family resides。 Friends, work, potential loves, all the elements that could prevent a person from moving towards a better future are not as important for Elora, Grace, and Chloe。 Your desire for adventure is quite deadly sometimes。 You know that, right?”* I received an advanced review copy。 This did not influence my review (I like to review)。 。。。more

Anita,
I am really in such shock especially with that ending。 I had no idea what to expect all but this wasn’t it! The tension of this book, everything that Elora went through, everything with Brannick, this book was just so much! Many emotional moments and much to love! Well done Kay!
Dahlia King,
Knowledge is power, right? Does that mean that Elora's knowledge of accepting her grief help her in her journey towards becoming fae? Or will she not make it? This book was absolutely wonderful。 I loved every second of it, and cannot wait for number 4。 I couldn't put it down, as I was wrapped up in a mixture of emotions that kept me coming back for more。 Knowledge is power, right?
